Story
Based on the trailers, there appears to be a threat to all the different versions of Spider-heroes from various dimensions in the multiverse. Amid this danger, Miles Morales finds himself at odds with the other heroes, who have differing opinions on confronting the villains.
Alongside the heroes, the movie introduces two villains: the Vulture, who gained recognition in the film Spider-Man: Homecoming, and a new character called the Spot, who makes his first appearance on the big screen.
In Marvel Comics, the Spot can create portals that can transport him anywhere, including different dimensions in the multiverse. Spot likely opens portals that start to unravel the interconnected web of life.
Despite this, the trailers imply that Spider-Man 2099 and his Spider-Society are pursuing Miles, indicating that the true identity of the main villain in Across the Spider-Verse has yet to be revealed.
