Amaran depicts the journey of Mukund Varadarajan, an officer of Indian Army and a brave soldier who was awarded Ashoka Chakra for his outstanding service. Mukund Varadarajan was born on April 12, 1983 and was serving in the Rajput regiment.
On April 25, 2014, Major Mukund died in a counter-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of this film is to preserve his retelling for posterity and promote it in Indian cinema.
