Plot

Just like other villages across India’s hinterlands, traditions have deep roots that shape the lives of villagers at Purushattapalli. This village located in West Godavari District is known for its annual festival devoted to local goddesses.

It is this occasion that brings together all residents of the village under different social and political settings while still conflicting.

These three friends belong to a youthful generation that has got tired of seeing elderly people rule with old-fashioned ways they find unacceptable today as community members living within this area known as youths’ haven or refuge against some cultural difficulties within Indian society.

William, on the other hand, is an idealist who believes in a better future for their village with no qualms about challenging the elders.

Subbu holds the key as he has been through losses that have made him want to change how things are done in Purushattapalli.

On one side of this divide, there are Narasimha and Shiva who represent the old guard’s reluctance to embrace new ideas.

Review

“Committee Kurrollu” isn’t just another drama; it is meant to mirror what happens within a close-knit community where traditional values jostle against modernization tendencies or growth. For this reason, the characters are so authentic in themselves while their narrative is gripping thought-provoking too.

In doing so, the film identifies these common subjects from an unexpected angle showing how they manifest in most films apart from mainstream ones all over the world today.

The movie is distinguished by its realistic depiction of rural life in which every move taken is influenced by age-old traditions and the common consciousness. The generational conflict shown in the film remains significant for viewers, particularly those living in regions characterized by similar power and social structures.

In a spirit of determination and defiance, Surya, William and Subbu’s comradeship comes up as a potent symbol of hope that even through great obstacles people can still stick together and remain loyal to one another.
