Pottel

Pottel is a Telugu action movie directed by Sahit Mothkhuri. This Film focuses on presenting different dimensions relevant to a multi-demensional society and intends to keep the viewers glued all the time.

Plot

Pottel is a story of a poor husband and father who is finding it really difficult to hold his family together, or rather Gangadhar played by Yuva Chandra Krishna. A dad who has a workaday job and is a not-so-A-list superhero most of the time in the eyes of his daughter.

Gangadhar leans to be a holy sheep in his village, the emblem of habit and obligation. and he asks nothing betther than that his child be taught. Modern society has somewhat made education something not so common and can only be financed and reserved to the elites.

All this may seem to be simplistic at first when we look at the ambition of Gangadhar. The struggle that Gangadhar is involved in is not just one of trying to educate her daughter in life, but it extends further on to be one of fighting the equity justice and breaking the hierarchical structure that in the past has enslaved the underprivileged.

The Characters

Yuva Chandra Krishna portrays the onscreen personality of Gangadhar in an exemplary manner given the fact that one can sense quiet intensity to the personality. The role of Ajay is also a complex character since Patel is not only an enemy but a representative of the same society where the advantage has been engraved so hard into him that it has become like an addiction to him.

The character played by Ananya Nagalla is of great weight regarding emotional content in the movie. Noel, Priyanka Sharma, Srikanth Iyengar and Chatrapati Sekhar have also played the supporting roles here and contribute a good value to the film story too. All of them acted as local village people.

Direction

The most efficient, Sahit Mothkhuri is in the creation of the constructive equilibrium in the documentary elements of the portrait with preachy, didactic tendency of the overall narrative without making Pottel appear like an instrument of communication.

He has handled sensitive issues of the society such as education disparities, social classes and their control in excellent ways. Instead of displaying any un-elaborated theme, he reveals the tones of the characters.

Shekar Chandra’s music

The music score that Shekar Chandra composed to Pottel has succeeded in giving emotions. The background music is not only used to enhance the intensity of action sequence but is also used to enhance the emotion that is being felt by GANGADHAR as he portrays his character.

Cinematography

The village is frozen in the camera by Monish Bhupathi Raju both through the choice of breathtaking simplicity and inermissible grittiness. The camera works depict the lives of both the power and the weak and the great and the small respectively in picture, to tell what could not be put into words.

Editor

Editing plays a very critical role in the thriller genre since it allows the flow of the story to be kept at a speedy pace and with tension, Karthika Srinivas R. has done amazingly, in this aspect. The plot of the movie is not too long and all the scenes play a role, so, there are no unnecessary moments. There is no interruption of emotional intensity in the manner the scenes provide the suspense novel and the watchers as well.

Review

Pottel also explores the questions of how a tradition fights against development. One can say that audiences will definitely be involved in fascinating combinations of everything involved in movie production, dramatization and last but not least style of story told that is based on characters.

Pottel has stunning performances, stunning cinematography, and an interesting story undertow that ensure that the message of the movie will stay in the audience even when the credits are rolled. The strength of love and strength of fighting not with fists but love and hope of a new day is also demonstrated by the film.
